The fall meeting was productive, but many were not able to make it due to the weather conditions in the area. A new south central regional chairman was named, it is Robert Nulton. Robert will be a great addition to the party. Also several members were named to committees for the spring national convention in Nashville. Serving on the credentials committee will be Gary Odom, on the rules committee will be Ed Roberson and on the platform committee are Jim Barr, Joe Murphy and Jody Fike.
Mickey Paoletta spoke on the banking system and Senator Mike Folmer ended the evening with a great speech. The spring meeting was set for February 11th. It was scheduled earlier in order to get a jump on petitioning for 2012. It will be held at the Park Inn in Mechanicsburg. Thank you for all who attended and please try to attend the meeting in February, It will be a convention and they are only held every two years.

Endowed or Entitled - Your Choice
by Peg Luksik
http://www.constitutionparty.com/news.php?aid=1388
Once upon a time there were two brothers. The older would, by birthright,
inherit all that his father owned. A day came when the older wanted
something to eat. He had been outside all day, and was hungry. The younger
had a meal already prepared. The older asked the younger to give him the
dinner. The younger agreed, on the condition that the older would give up
his birthright in return for the free meal. The older took the deal, gave
up his birthright, and ate.
Most of us recognize the story. And we scratch our heads at a person who
would give away an entire birthright for one meal.
We shouldn’t. We are just like him.
America was founded on the recognition that each of us has a birthright of
endowed and unalienable rights. Like all birthrights, it brings the promise
of opportunity and blessing, provided that we honor the responsibility of
protecting and cherishing it. Our birthright cannot legitimately be taken
from any of us, but each of us can choose to give it away. If enough of us
make that choice, the birthright’s promise will be lost to all of us.
Sadly, many Americans are making that choice. They are selling their
birthright of endowed rights for the free meal of government entitlements.
And like the older brother in the story, they are convincing themselves that
their immediate needs are so important that meeting them is worth what they
are losing.

JBS Coordinator visits Pittsburgh
TOMORROW! Try to make it.
Hello to everyone,
The Pittsburgh chapter of the John Birch Society will have a visit from our Field Coordinator Thomas Rice at our next regular meeting on Thursday August 25th at the Starlite Lounge/Rest. in Blawnox starting at 7:30pm.
Mr. Rice will give us some timely information as well as some much needed encouragement.
Let's try to fill the Starlite in support of the timeless efforts that the JBS has given to our country.Sadly we all see so many of the JBS's predictions coming true, and many more concerned people awaking from their slumber. The time is right to organize, coordinate, & educate these folks, that is where the JBS & their resources can be priceless.
Please try to attend and bring your friends. I am sending this out early to give you time to plan.
Also the food at the Starlite is very good, they have been featured on the Food Channel show Diners, Drive ins & Dives. In my travels it always amazes me how many people have seen that show and the Starlite. We have been having our meetings there for years and are appreciative of them. Any questions please call me, leave a message I will return your call. Sincerely, Wes Thompson Chapter Leader 412-303-0205
FEEL FREE TO FORWARD THIS TO TOUR LISTS AND TO POST THE EVENT ON SOCIAL SITES ETC...
